Snow much fun!

****Evidently, Blogger has been having serious issues with video. Check back, as they have promised a "fix."

About a week and a half ago, my brother and his friend came to visit and we took Cole sledding. This is something Abe and I have wanted to do for a while, but we haven't gone and bought a sled yet, and the snow sticks around here for such a short amount of time, we just haven't had the chance to take him.

Fortunately, my brother's friend had a few sleds, so they brought them up and we went in search of snow. There was still a fair amount of snow on the ground in the woods for us to sled on, however, it was packed and icy- not the safest sledding conditions (but, fortunately, everyone made it home fairly unscathed.)

The biggest surprise was that Cole loved it! The first few times he went, he went down with my brother. Then my brother and his friend convinced me that Cole could do it himself...and he did! Now this is shocking because a) I allowed him to do it and b) he is normally such a crybaby about stuff like that, that he won't do it. Granted, we did have to force him on the sled a few times, but once he was moving, he loved it!

I still feel awful that we went out without Abe (he had headed to the Ranch/hunting), since it is something we have wanted to do for a while, but am glad I was able to take Cole, just in case we don't get enough snow again this year to go out again.

Here is a video of Cole's last/longest/highest run. Sorry its a little shaky, but my brother launched him right at me, so I had to scurry out of Cole's speeding path. Yes, I was absolutely terrified every time he went, and my heart would stop briefly in anxiousness, but he had a blast, and in the end, that's all that matters. (BTW- watch closely and you will notice Cole caught some air on a few little bumps- so scary for Mom to watch!!!)

Christmas 2009

So I'm finally getting around to Christmas (Cole is in watching Little Einsteins, so I have a few minutes!) We did our "normal" routine of Christmas Eve at my family's and Christmas Day with Abe's. Here are some highlights:

The whole gang- notice Cole's pose, which he struck all on his own!
The first present of the holiday!

A box!

Nope, its pajamas!

Cole helped Aunt Brittany make cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning (he LOVED Aunt Brittany!)

So much so, he followed her the the restroom!

See, she's in there!

Cole saw his "stash" Christmas morning and came running in before I could stop him! This was the only picture I could get before he made contact with his presents!

WOW!

Dozer got in the action, too. Of course, Cole had to help.

Cole was so entertained with his car table he would move the presents we would hand him out of his way. See them back there on the ottoman?

Aunt Brittany then came over to show him his other gifts, and he became MUCH more interested. Because it was "Mee-ney" and he wanted to do anything involving her! He continued to ask for her for weeks after Christmas!

Done with Santa gifts, now onto the gifts under the tree- including the GIANT box with Cole's name all over it!

It was a basketball hoop- which like everything else, now has a home in his playroom!

Here was his haul at my family's. Such an attitude!

We then got him all cleaned up and headed to the Geupel's. And Cole's spoiling continued... haha
He got lots of goodies, including "balls"- or Whoppers. We had to hide the box and then Abe and I had to replace them with more about a day and a half later.

Cole also decided to open the rest of his Santa presents. He just wanted to play rather than open them. Can you blame him?

Cole's new train table! He was so excited for "choo-choos"

And a train set to go with it!

Loves it!
All in all, it was a great Christmas. It took Abe a SOLID 45 minutes to unload the truck and we spent all the next day cleaning/purging the playroom to make room for all his new toys. Oh the joys of being the only grandchild!
Well, Little Einsteins is over, and I can hear noises that are NOT GOOD- so that is it for Christmas. It was great as always!!!
