We did take Cole to a Sundogs game a few weeks back. Sadly, none of the pictures we took turned out too well. He enjoyed it a lot more this time, and even started cheering toward the end. More than anything though, he spent the evening scouring the stands for "Burnie" the mascot, and would emphatically point him out to Abe and me, until we would acknowledge his find.
Lately, Cole's favorite activity is this:
I even suggested to Abe to "walk" Dozer at the same time. It worked! I didn't witness it, but I can only imagine Abe balancing Cole, tugging a yorkie on a leash, while zooming up and down the street. Too funny!
Cole did sustain his first "black eye." Fortunately, it didn't get too black, and was actually cleared up by the next morning. He had been screwing around, trying to run away from me trying to get him dressed, while in his footie pajamas, sneaking behind the chair in his room, and walking on his books (something I have discussed with him relentlessly to be not okay). Needless to say, he slipped on a book and did a face plant then slide down the wall. He cried, I lectured (feeling no sympathy), only to realize later that morning, he had indeed been hurt (and then feeling terrible that I hadn't been more sympathetic.) Oh well! I tried to warn him! (Abe and I are of the parenting philosophy that we can only tell him so many times, and he will just figure it out for himself once he ends up hurt. Like last night, with him slamming his pinkie in the door to the garage... live and learn, live and learn.)
Black eye and all, we decided to visit Dad on another job site. Shades included. Too bad we forgot the hard hat!
Yesterday I left Cole in his room to take a nap. After hearing him run about a bit and then hearing silence, I went in to check on him. I had a moment of panic when I looked in his bed and he wasn't there, only to find him here...
Shortly after, I heard some whining, because he had woken up to relocate to his bed and found his sippy cup to be empty. Crisis averted, I filled the sippy and he instantly fell back to sleep- for another 2 hours! Love it!
Today we had our Thanksgiving Feast for MOMS Club. I spent HOURS yesterday cutting out and preparing pilgrim/indian head dresses, pilgrim collars (boys and girls), cutting up veggies and turkey, only to have Cole decide that the stairs were more fun! Fortunately, I brought all the stuff home, so he will eventually have both hats, and then I will take pictures.
